Simplify Jig and Fixture Design - Eliminate Special Locking Details

The same locking mechanisms used in Grip-Master Vises are available in two sizes of Grip-Master Fixture Locks. Long travel provides plenty of chip clearance, easy loading and unloading. Gets into hard to reach places. Special locking bars available up to 24 inches. Bar soft 1" on end for adapting to fixture.

MODEL NO. 9-FL FIXTURE LOCK APPLICATION PHOTO

A 9-FL with fixturing. The piece on the end of the center bar is used to register the part and hold it squarely when the fixture is closed. The last 1" of the 9-FL, 9-PA, 2-FL and 2-PA center bar is left soft. This allows for end attachments or machining. The rest of the center bar is hardened. The center bar is free to rotate.

MODEL NO. 2-FL FIXTURE LOCK APPLICATION PHOTOS

Two 2-FLs with fixturing, closed on two parts. Notice the contact dowels on the left side of the block at the end of the center bar. The part (casting) has a slight burr around its edge.
One can just barely make out a vertical support dowel under the left corner of the part in the foreground. Keeping the part up off the fixture allows for chip clearance.
Four 2-FLs with fixturing. The knobs on the end of the center bars have been replaced by discs. A tool is used to pry back the center bar and v-blocks to load the part. The springs hold the part in place before the locking lever is closed. The dowels on either side of the v-block keep the v-block aligned properly.
Four 2-FLs with fixturing.
