Abrasive Brushes

Abrasive Brushes

The most straightforward tools, like abrasive brushes, are often the key to the success of a job. The wrong brush or a poor abrasive brush can underperform or even damage the work.

Abrasive Brushes for Metal

Fortunately, at Penn Tool Co., we offer a complete selection of hand and power abrasive tools to clean work, prep surfaces, and apply finishes. Be sure you have the right tool for the job. Invest in quality brushes.

Hand-Powered Cleaning Brushes

There is a hand-powered cleaning brush for every application. Use nylon bristles to clean plastic and wood surfaces or remove soft contaminants. Bronze bristles can safely clean soft metals like copper or aluminum. Steel and other hard metals can take the abrasion that stainless steel bristles provide.

Use a tube or wheel brush to clean the interior of any cylindrical surface. Clean lubrication lines, pipes, drilled holes, or threaded holes with an adequately sized cylindrical brush.

We offer tube brush sets in various diameters and lengths to tackle a variety of tube or hole sizes. Spiral brushes designed specifically for light sockets are also available.

Wire and Filament Brushes

A complete line of wire and filament brushes is available to tackle nearly any task. Use chemical-resistant filament applicator brushes for flux, solvents, adhesives, or coatings.

Steel or bronze wire scratch brushes, with or without scrapper blades, can remove paint or rust from work surfaces. Use a fine bristle wire brush to clean files and keep them cutting evenly.

Polypropylene bristles are ideal for general purposes and workplace cleanup brushes. A wide selection of lengths, widths, and handle materials are available.

Abrasive Power Brushes

For big jobs, the proper abrasive power brush attached to a drill or angle grinder can make short work of a tough job. Cup brushes with nylon, brass, bronze, or steel bristles work well on any surface. They can remove dirt, paint, or light corrosion quickly. Use an end brush to do similar work in tight spaces.

When working on a flat surface, a disc brush is ideal. Applications range from hand-held grinders to CNC mounts. Silicon Carbide abrasive wire and flat surface discs provide grit levels from 80 to 320.

Ceramic Straight Disc Brushes

Ceramic straight disc brushes offer a low-cost alternative with similar results. For major production applications, ceramic/silicon carbide tapered disc brushes in various grits, diameters, and trim lengths are available.

Radial bristle brushes are a cost-effective alternative for general-purpose cleanup and surface prep. Their flexible abrasive medium enables them to handle flat and irregular surfaces. A complete line of 3M discs is available in various grits, face widths, and diameters.

Abrasive Brush Accessories

Proper tool retention is critical to safe and sound function. At Penn Tool Co. we offer a full line of brush arbors, adaptors, and mounting hardware for nearly any application. Tube brush extension rods from 3″ to 48″ long enables your tube brush the reach needed to clear any hole or tube.
