The Cherry Red instant case hardening compound helps you make a well-hardened machine part or tool from an ordinary piece of steel in your machining or metalworking shop.
It is a cost-effective solution as with a very less amount of the product, if applied properly, you can achieve the best results and great surface finishes.
After using the compound, you get a case depth of about less than 0.0001", which may slightly vary.

With the Cherry Red instant surface hardening powder, you can effortlessly harden your steel tools, parts, dies, gears, blades, etc.
The compound is designed for parts made of ferrous materials, including hot-rolled and cold-rolled steels, tool steels, and others.
However, you cannot use it for parts constituting stainless steel and other vanadium or chromium alloy steels.

With Cherry Red case hardening compound, you do not need any expensive heat treating equipment.
This surface hardening powder comes in 1-lbs. jar and 5-lbs. pail containers.
The compound meets USDOT regulations, and it is non-hazardous and non-inflammable.
The hardening compound does not contain cyanide, and thus, it is safe to use, provided it is used in a well-ventilated area, wearing proper safety equipment.
NOTES:
Case depth varies based on the type of steel and thoroughness of the heat applied by the user, but it is generally less than ten-thousandths of an inch. The process imparts several parts-per-million of carbon into that case hardened surface. Please note that it does not add any "thickness" and is not a coating like paint or anodizing.
