The Yost 3D 3.5" general-purpose drill press vise mounts to a drill press bench to provide clamping action for drilling applications, meets Federal Specification GGG-V-443-A, Type 1, Class 2, Style B; National Stock Number (NSN) 3460-00-277-3504; and Commercial Item Description (CID) AA51123-B3, Type 2, Size 3. The stationary base creates a firm foundation when mounted. The body is made of class 30 cast gray iron and the jaws are made of cast iron for durability and strength. The moveable jaw has horizontal and vertical grooves for enhanced grip of circular stock, and the stationary jaw is smooth. The jaws draw closer together or farther apart by turning the vise handle clockwise or counterclockwise.

The main screw that controls the jaws has been continuous rolled for high strength. A rubber washer on either side of the handle prevents unwanted sliding when turning, and the balls on each end unscrew to enable replacement of the handle if worn. The base has three 0.8125" long x 0.5" wide slots for mounting hardware (not included).
