Milling Machines

Milling Machines use milling cutters to cut into and remove the material form the surface of Workpiece.  Although they look similar to Drilling Machines, they not the same.  There is a machine that is somewhere in the middle of both machines that is called the Mill/Drill.  These are lighter duty machines that are similar to the drill press but also have an X-Y table for milling.  The Milling Machine uses a cutter that is moved perpendicular to the axis.  In this manner the cutting happens at circumference of the cutter.  The milling process happens by performing many separate small cuts in the material you are milling.  They come in a variety of models and sizes. The basic models can perform very well with only basic accessories being added on like Power Feeds and Digital Readouts.  More advanced Milling Machines can have CNC Controllers and perform very advanced machining tasks.  Penn Tool Co carries a variety of Milling Machines from a many different manufactures.  We have Vertical Mills, Turret Mills, Bed Mills, Knee Mills, Horizontal Mills, and Mill/Drills.  They come in a variety of price ranges to fit any persons budget from the hobbyist to the advanced machinist working on the factory floor.
