GrindoSonic® SA Semi Automatic system for 100% production Quality Control

The GrindoSonic® SA system combines Impulse Excitation with an automated vibration measurement arm to be able to measure large amounts of products in a semi automated way. A fully automated measurement can be realized by loading and unloading the instrument by means of a 3D manipulator or robot arm.

The natural frequency measured is an overall Quality parameter integrating hardness, presence of cracks, structural integrity, compound gluing quality and dimensional tolerances.

Since more than 5 decades, GrindoSonic is the Industry Standard for Impulse Exitation Technology (IET) to measure Material Properties and perform Quality Control.

The GrindoSonic® SA System is designed to automate the quality control process of brake pads, ceramic components and other production elements that need to be IET tested.

As soon as fe. a braking pad is put on the measurement table, the vibration measurement probe will be positioned against the object by means of a measurement arm. The impulse excitation device will hit the object with a small steel projectile, causing the first eigenfrequency to be excited.

This frequency is measured and immediately displayed on the touch screen. Acceptance limits can be setup per batch and statistics can be done. An average of the accepted pieces and of the total number of pieces is calculated immediately.

Alternatively the GrindoSonic® SA system can be used with an external manipulator or robot, to load and unload the system and to perform measurements in a fully automated way.
