After inserting work between the measuring contacts, releasing the lever will cause the spindle to contact the work, giving an accurate size reading because measuring pressure is independent of the user. Indicators have jewel bearings and continuous dials. Models with balanced dials, other graduations and ranges are also available on special order. Electronic indicators can also be furnished. Throat depths include 2-1/2", 4", and 6". The contact edges are radiused to prevent the work from being marred or deflected. The flat contact area measures 1/4" (6.3mm) in diameter and is 1/8" (0.125mm) thick.
